About Maysoun
Maysoun Al-Ajjan
An artist who specializes in painting on porcelain, and in making and painting pottery.
Calm and honest colors
Maysoun chooses calm, true colors to give a feeling of honesty that is missing from much of today's work. Not too bright, and never dull or sad. Honest colors that set your living room and your world apart, with an art that has been missing for many years from loud, busy work.
The craft
Maysoun paints on plates and panels with porcelain colors, metal-based colors that are fixed by fire. Every piece goes into the kiln in five stages, between 650 and 750 °C, and with each stage she adds a new layer of color. Gold is painted last, cold.
Training and exhibitions
Maysoun holds a certificate from Duncan Ceramics in the United States, and she has taken part in exhibitions across the Arab world.
The signature
Maysoun signs every piece by hand and writes the year next to her signature. This same signature became her logo.
