Master of the Fountain

He stands proudly on the rim of a clay fountain, as if the water were his.

A blue bird stands on the rim of an old clay fountain while water pours from its mouth into the basin. His blue feathers meet a warm orange breast, and light green leaves grow around the fountain.

Maysoun painted this plate as one of six birds by the water. This one is the eastern bluebird, known for its blue back and orange breast.

Birds by the Water

Six square porcelain plates, each with a small bird by the water: a fountain, a tap, a bucket. Hung together on a living room wall, a hallway or an entrance, they tell one story. Each plate is sold on its own.
